In 2013–2016, Reinhard Bonnke brought the Gospel to America with the same fire that transformed Africa, declaring “America shall be saved.” Many Evangelical leaders largely ignored him. Then they poured their energy into the 2016 Trump campaign and the pursuit of political power. The result: greater division and spiritual decline. Politics cannot save a nation. Only the Gospel can.

Yet church attendance has collapsed and the “nones” keep rising. This piece traces four decades of activism and asks the hard question: Did the Kingdom advance, or did politics become ultimate while the nation’s soul slipped away?
