People often hear “CIA officer” and think of Washington, headquarters, or what they have seen in movies.
But a significant part of my career was spent far from Washington—working in war zones and high-threat environments, including Afghanistan and the Middle East.
🌍🇺🇸 From Kandahar to other dangerous overseas assignments, nearly seven years of my CIA career were spent operating where decisions carried real consequences and leadership was tested under pressure.
⚔️ War-zone service taught me something that never left me:
Credibility matters. Character matters. Leadership matters.
And when lives are at stake, integrity is not optional.
Those experiences also shaped what happened later when I confronted wrongdoing inside the CIA—and why I refused to simply look the other way.
